History and Growth
Tung-hai University was founded in 1956. The Human Resource office was not an independent division which was charged by secretary to the president. Since more and more faculty joined the University, the Human Resource office provides a wide range of human resources services to all employees in accordance with University and school or division policies and practices and in support of the goals of the unit. In February 1976, Human Resource office itself officially became the single unit of administration division.
Responsibilities within Organization
The current faculty of the office is composed of the Director of Human Resource office that is part-time professor and sponsored by seven full-time staff members. There are two sections in the office and each of which is responsible for different segments of our workforce. Recruitment, promotion, hiring for faculty positions, in-off management and so on are typically done by Section One. The section two served for salary range, insurance, counting education, performance management, retirement, award and payment.
Function and Feature
Tung-hai University has long recognized the importance of human resource is the most important capital for development. We believed that human capacity and working performance would promote the competition of the University. Lately, Human resource office concentrated on hiring suitable professional, providing training and retaining the best talent because that would lead to a deepened commitment from staff to organizational goals. The founding purpose of the office is setting prospective policy and success measures to assist Tung-hai’s schools and units in optimizing their effectiveness and successfully implementing logistical supports. In our ongoing commitment to raising the quality of teaching, research and services, it would provide the basis of sustainable development for Tung-hai University.
Vision
Both teaching and research are important to the University. We have the duty to retain excellent faculty, attract the very best candidates and offer faculty the opportunity for fellowships in order to promote the quality of human resource for the University. The main approach to construct the best administrative services has been established by humanity-oriented program for employee, multiple hiring processes for different segments, training and life long learning, duty switch and conducting the performance review. The office has been moving toward the best administration workforce. All of the office members would serve the best and care about more for our employee. In addition to being externally competitive, we will be keeping improvement of personnel system, building job related skills for employee, and providing compensation package. We believe the better we prepare, the more likely the University is to succeed in the new century.
